Just checking the drool factor...

Postby Wing Nut » Sat Aug 07, 2010 8:15 pm

I've been promising you guys this forever, and I didn't want to promise anything else in case I got bored and dropped the project again, but it finally looks l might actually complete this by the end of the year, so I thought I might check the drool factor and see what happens.

i love the look of the model in shot # 4. is it the same model as # 1, cause # 1 seems to have a rounder fuselage, or is it the color effect. i'm not a big fan of black, in # one it is difficult to see the difference between the wing and the fuselage. with the black you loose the details sometimes.but i love very much the interior ,metal for the instruments and wood. looks very promising. i could never do something like that.keep up the good work.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Wow, I usually don't fly old prop planes, but this one might just convince me to do so!
That looks awesome, and the drool factor is very high!! :o

It's difficult to type with drool on your keyboard but, in case there's a vote, I'm also for the inline.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.  What you're seeing is something I've been at a LONG time.  The first two Travel Air Mystery Ships (of the five made) had a Wright J-5-9 radial and an inline Chevolair engine  While it was a more beautiful plane, the Chevolair was such a bad engine that Walter Beech wouldn't allow it to be flown back from it's debut at the 1929 Cleveland Air Races.  Instead he had it disassembled and shipped back by rail.  Later he re-engined it also with a radial.

Should I actually succeed at getting this released this time (I gave up making promises long ago) they will be part of a package of all five Mystery Ships with both the Chevolair and radial models of R613K for a total of 6 models and 9 textures.  I've put every other project I have on hold until it's done, so we shall see...
