Look what works in FSX...

Eugene Heyart's fictional Super Otter NG. Man I have missed this bird. Granted, it has the proverbial FS9 in FSX prop problem, the light switches are m.i.a., and the center panel is blurry, but it flies as great as ever. How could you not love this bird, 280 kias, spoilers, and can land just about anywhere. De Havilland should have built this one. Maybe somebody can help me find the m.i.a. light switches and I can live with the prop.
Eugene, OR to Coos Bay.

Just before touchdown, 74 kias. Stall is 65. Notice the distance to the end of the runway and then look at the last pic. Talk about STOL.

Nice shots Larry...very nice... :)

The deHavilland Otter is being reworked on the west coast of Canada.
What you have posted has been flying for quite a few years now..... :)

There is talk of the Otter and Beaver going back into production as there is nothing to replace them.

Sure wish they were available for FSX in all configurations... :)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

[color=#000000]I know Doug. But this is a fictional Otter with winglets and other performance enhancements, above the real Super Otter. It's just cool in my opinion. I have one model of the regular Super Otter but it's not a very good one, and this just blows it away. You set the 'Brake Help' button prior to landing, and then when you press on the brakes, it automatically engages the spoilers and reverse thrust. But then you need to disengage the button to taxi.

Hi Larry... :)

If they do put the Beaver, Otter and Buffalo back into production which is what the talk is right now there will probably be major major structural changes.

Things like pressurization, all weather capability, STOL, VIP transport, light utility, amphibious float, wheel/sk, wheel mods are all being assessed.

I think the target is small military operators, commercial operators and the rich and famous.
The single aeroplane mom and dad operation is almost a thing of the past here now thanks to our former government.... ;D

Time and money will tell.... ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

[color=#000000]Sounds like a very good time to buy De Havilland stock.
