Hi all, bought a new screen.

I'm playing @1900 x 1020 now. Looks cool. The 2d panels are all pretty distorted, but VCs look really awesome.

Tha original file had 1,2 Mb

Very Nice, how did you get the runway lights so bright?

There was once a hint to edit a cfg-file to enlarge the runwaylights..... :-/,

I'll do a search this afternoon and send you a PM.

Cheers,
Fabian

You changed your resolution because of a new video card or a new screen ?
When I switched to an old 17" CRT screen to a 22" 16/10 LCD, that made quite a huge difference... and since I never use 2D panels, it was a totally positive experience :)

EDIT: I'm stupid, I didn't read the title :P
So it's a new screen.
I know the original shots will take a lot of space on your hardrive, but I recommend you to keep them in case you get a big LCD TV screen.
When I look at my original shots (converted to JPEG but not resized) on my parent's big LCD TV screen (it has some USB plugs), they look just amazing !!

I think those are parameters with names sounding like "runway_light_scalar", something like that. I don't remember in which CFG file thoe parameters are, though...

I couldn't find the place for runway lights at all in the cfg(s)
So I did a google search and got
Well I just found something "FSX Xenon Lights 3.0"
on FS, I have not tried it yet, (Downloading now)
http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=106188

EDIT
Found something :)
I got the following reply from a forum on flightsimworld.com (this is for FS9
by the way):

The only thing you can do is make the light settings in your FS9cfg file
brighter.

Find your FS9cfg at "C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR ACCOUNT NAME
HERE\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9 (you must have the folder option set,
show "Hidden files and folders", found at "tools", "Folder Options")

And add this section below under [DISPLAY] (add it just the way you see it
the// rems out the words after, I added them just to show you what each
setting dose what)...

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.0 //scales edge, center,end,touchdown,runways
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.0 // scales VASI lights)
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.6 // scales approach light bars
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.4 //scales RAILs and ODALs)

Play with the above numbers until the lights are as bright or dim as you
want them, just make sure you go .2 higher or lower at a time, so in other
words say you want the Surface lights brighter then what I have above, so you
would go 1.2 or 1.4 or 1.6 and so on. But remember you have to start and
re-start each time you change the settings.

I used a Programm called Flusifix to edit the fs9.cfg. It's very mighty and has a lot of features.

The Entry for the Runway lights is:

[Display] in FS9.cfg (Defaultvalue is 1.0):

Runway_Lights_Surface_Scalar=0.5
Runway_Lights_Vasi_Scalar=0.5
Runway_Lights_Approach_Scalar=0.5
Runway_Lights_Strobe_Scalar=0.5
