Destination Mauritius
Posted: Mon Apr 19, 2010 1:19 amI flew from Cape Town Int'l to Mauritius last night, and had quite an experience. Well, the departure and general flight was normal, as well as the decent, but when I entered the circuit, and lower the flaps, things started to happen.. With gear out, and flaps at 25, I could not get a normal decent rate. heavy winds also played a part. on Final, with full flaps, something was terrebilly wrong. Speed wouldn't go lower than 185KIAS, throttles cut, and nose pitched so high I couldnt believe it. Now it was night as well. Doing the right thing, throttle up, flaps up, go - around! I had to make a flapless landing at night with heavy wind. All's well if it end well. I was safe on the ground.
I found out later that there is some flap error in the CFG.. replaced it with the default 737, now she is ready to fly again....
