Really nice shots, where's the glider from? Love the wingflex.

This is the default FSX glider ;)

I might have to start flying that, if so ;) :P

That would definitely be a good idea.
Be carefull, though: the flight is quite slow, so it's better to choose an area with a very interesting landscape.
For exemple, I fly the glider mostly in the Swiss Alps around Inerlaken, with the LOD 11 mesh. The area is beautifull during the summer.

That's fine, I fly many gliders (from fsgliders.de), I just didn't bother trying the default one, after seeing the high quality of the addon gliders and the usually low quality of default planes.

I kind of disagree: in FSX, the default planes are really good. Look at the C172, Goose, Maule, the glider (forgot the name :P ), and Beaver, for example.

In FS9 it was also the case with the historical planes, for example the Jenny, the Vega, the Trimotor, and the Comet. All had very nice textures, models, and really cool virtual cockpits !!

It's quite hard to find an addon plane that is as complete as detailled as the default planes, especially if you consider the virtual cockpits.

The quality of the liners is not that nice, this is right, especially for FS9 liners. In FSX, the liners have much better models, virtual cockpits and general textures, but still their functionnalities are as limited as the FS9 liners.

However, if you like to fly the gliders, I hope you are also using the two modules CumulusX and Aerotow. I think we discussed this already, right ?

CharlieR, if you do not know about those modules, perform a search on the forum, I'm sure you'll find a lot of information. To summarize, CumulusX analyzes in real-time the shape of the terrain around you and the wind, to generate dynamically thermals that simulate ridge lift. It's very cool for flying in the mountain areas. AeroTow is another module that lets you choose what airplane (from your hangar) you want to use as a towing aircraft, and it lets you also choose the path that the tow plane must follow (straight, circles or active flightplan). Both are freeware, and real must-haves if you like gliding in FS :)

Great pics!

IMO, gliding is one very enjoyable aspect of FS that is often neglected. It takes some skill to stay aloft as long as possible and make it back to the air strip.  :)

Thanks Daube! I use CumulusX, but haven't heard of Aerotow before, when can I get it?

There: http://lennundus.orgkaos.org/failid/wor ... rotow/?M=D

And you'll find more informations in the original topic where this thing was introduced: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6497

Ah, I have found the topic where I presented this module here on Simviation:
http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 25281864/3

Funny thing is: the Simviation search engine would not return any result when searching for "aerotow". Google found it, though :/

compression hurt the shots. The limit is 150kb. Yours are only 71! but other than that, great job!
