being a geologist, I had to visit this PNW volcano of course...

Mt St Helens did not explode upwards, like most volcanoes, but sideways toward the north (left in this image) after a giant landslide. This is why the destruction was so great..

Following the lahar away from the volcano. Note the devastation toward the north (left), while the area in the south remained more or less intact.

well, that did not disappoint! I think it looks great, you can almost map the different lava flows, and I love how they modelled the track of the lahar flowing away. Great stuff!

That scenery is beautiful! The mountain looks amazing, we're going to do a case study on Mt Saint Helens for our GCSE Geography class. ;)
