Exactly what I've been wondering, my screen, not yours. It's actually supposed to be champagne; at least that's what it looks like on mine. But I've noticed with high shine and ample sunlight, lighter colors often look white or off-white. Wouldn't it be great if there was some sort of industry standard and everybody's screen was calibrated exactly the same, color wise, but could be modifed if they chose.
