Trying out 3D Lights

Postby matthewdev » Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:29 am

I just downloaded the Tutorial by Apple Pie on using the Deltasim studio's 3D lights and I was very impressed with the result. Thanks both to Deltasim and Christian Silvers

Good morning all... :)

Quick question Matt:

Once installed does it work for all aircraft or does one have to do every aircraft individually?

Great shot... ;)

You have to install it individually for each aircraft, so it requires a bit of effort but it's definitely worth it! ;D It requires an extra entry in the lights section of an aircraft's cfg file. The tutorial comes with entries to copy and paste into all the cfg's of the default aircraft and for a few addons as well. For other planes you would have to work out where to place the lights manually!

Hope that helps,

Matt

for this you can guestamate :) Since most planes are similar with one another, they will almost all work out :)

Thanks Matt will see if I can find the download site.

I wonder when new payware aircraft are developed if that will be standard or is it standard now?
I do not buy payware aircraft as the nearest location would probably be a three or more hour drive away.

Most payware aircraft allow you to download them.

If you haven't found the file, you can download the tutorial by Christian Silvers here: http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?ID=7971

It also requires you to download the Sirrocco yacht, avialable here: http://www.simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=69&page=2 for the actual light effect.

Hi Folks... :)

Okay the links took me to the Sirocco in the download section which also has an update FSX Sirocco Lt and just below that was another Sirocco I thought was updated so that is the one I downloaded.
There is no effects folder in the file and yes it showed up on FSX.
Uninstalled that one so my question is:

The Sirocco with the Update FSX Sirocco Lt must be the one I should download and do I need to install the update as well?

Do not know why there was no effects folder in the other download.

Flying Trucker, if you don't mind, PM me your e-mail and I'll send the needed .fx file right over.
