Something new for me...

Postby Flying Trucker » Wed Mar 03, 2010 1:07 pm

Good afternoon all... :)

Thought I would try and do some size comparisons and I have never done this before so advice and comments are most welcome.   :)

If one has not flown a float or amphibian aircraft versus the wheel model there is quite a difference.  The float aircraft is heavier, flight characteristics vary from aircraft to aircraft, an amphibian or float can be more difficult to dock than parking it's wheeled version and the amphibian or float aircraft will seem to be larger and perhaps a little more intimidating at the abinitio stage.

It all takes time and practice so here are a few comparisons I thought everyone might enjoy.   :)

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Hi Larry   :)

When I did the textures for the "Wheeled" version of "PZL"
I had to add to the configuration file:

[fltsim.3]
title=DHC-3 Otter PZL SimV (Wheeled) Paint3
sim=DHC3 PZL Wheeled
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=SimV
kb_checklists=OtterPZL_check
kb_reference=OtterPZL_ref
atc_id=N007SV
ui_manufacturer=de Havilland
ui_type=DHC-3 Otter PZL
ui_variation=SimV
description=This Otter is the 1000hp conversion from Airtech Canada (R). With 400 more horsepower than the original P&W R1340, the 1000 hp PZL engine (reminiscent R1820 Wright "Cyclone") offers significant performance gains. Take off and climb are dramatically improved, especially on floats.
