Bad Weather Baron!

FS 2004.... ;)...!

During my usual flight around SOCAL this afternoon I was met with some seriously bad weather en-route...

Heavy clouds, driving rain, and poor visibility showing on the Weather Radar!... :o...!

Not the sort of weather to be flying, for a VFR Pilot, like me.... :-[...!

Flying from Santa Maria Pub, to Paso Robles, va the MQO Vortac...and struggling to keep my trusty Beech Baron 58 under control in the buffeting winds, guided by the Pacific Coast, barely visible to my left!...>>>>

Edge-of-the-seat flying!...>>>

I wonder how the Drivers down below are coping with the Rain?...>>>

Not the sort of Flight I am generally used to in; "Sunny California"! :o...!

Ta, Doug...!

I don't normally venture out in bad weather in my Sim Aircraft, VFR Pilot, (or my Motorcycling), Captain Sensible, but this one caught me by surprise en-route, and I had to rely on my instruments, Radio and Nav Aids (VOR's and NDB's) and Charts, to get me from place to place, whilst inside the clouds!

"Real Weather" was constantly updating for the duration of the flight on the California Radar Map, and showing bad conditions!

I'm hoping for clear blue skies tomorrow!... :-*...!

Probably pulled over and watching, with disbelief, as some crazy pilot challenges the weather Gods.

..too true, Alec... :o...!

I observed KRON4's live weather Radar for SOCAL before the flight, and with Real Weather updates (REX) occurring during my Multiplayer Flight, I constantly ran into it!... :o...!

The weather Radar has been showing bad weather for the whole of SOCAL for days now!

I'm going to have a few GA flights in SOCAL today, (San Francisco/Los Angeles), so I'll keep a very wary eye on the weather before the flight. It can be dangerous!.... :o....!

Its a shame that default ATC cant be included in our on-line Multiplayer flights... :'(....!
There must be a good? reason why it is not included in Multiplayer?... ::)...!

I agree, if it wasn't for running live ATC.net while flying online, it would be too quiet and lonely to do so.

I would imagine that VATSIM has a strict set of rules which everyone must abide by (realistic?).... I am a Rebel... [smiley=evil.gif]... ;D...!

VATSIM expectations:

Expectations and Requirements

VATSIM is a global volunteer organization of flight simulation hobbyists who use donated network resources to create a virtual on-line ATC environment. All members are volunteers and there are no fees or membership dues. Although some of the controllers are real world professionals, amateur hobbyist controllers who enjoy giving their time to provide ATC services to the pilots of the VATSIM community provide the vast majority of ATC services. Most VATSIM members are dedicated to participating in an
