- Pilot: "This is Cactus 1539 hit birds. We lost thrust in both engines. We're turning back towards LaGuardia."

- Tower: "Okay, you need to return to LaGuardia, turn left heading two two zero"

- Pilot: "Two two zero"

- Tower: "Cactus 1549, runway four is available if you want to make left traffic to runway four."

- Pilot: "I am not shure if we can make any runway. Oh what's over to our right? Anything in New Jersey?"

- Tower: "Cactus 1549 do you want to try to land runway one three?"

- Pilot: "We're not able, we may end up in the Hudson"

By these words and in less than one minute, on january 16th 2009, Captain Chesley Sullenberger took the hardest decision in his life by landing his A320 in the Hudson river and successfully landed on the water, saving the live of more than his 150 passengers, no deaths.

This is the best picture I keep in mind for this year.

Good luck to all in this contest. Have a good productive year!

I like the perspective and the buildings in the background.

Extremely well done.  Perhaps a tad more nose-up.

Answer: Because US Air is based in the mostly desert state of Arizona. The city is Tempe.

Back in the good old days, some carriers adopted these 'individuality' calls.

Their callsign changed when US Airways was acquired by America West Airlines in 2005.
