A dying breed? These will have to be remembered for both of their years of service.The renowned 747 and the fleeting glimpses of the old Northwest.

Their retiring the 747-400? If so, this is a bad way to end the year.

It's more of a guess about the 747's future with the upcoming flights of the 787's. The northwest 747 is still around. But as you know with the delta takeover, these sightings will be rare and then nonexistent.
