Death Valley

Best to view  in a nice slow "puddle-jumper".

But I gotta be me....

The vally is flat enough that the Orlenok and "Sea Monster" can manage most of it.  This is me saying "Hi-g'bye".

And yes, in "real world weather", it was raining in the north part of Death Valley.  I guess it's that time of year. :P

Excellent... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

I often "Google Earth" during my Sim Flights, and "Death Valley" on the Map looks very similar to the screen shots!...;)...!

What an awful place to be, in real life!

What an awful place to be, in real life!

Thousands of people make the trek every year through there. The vast, vast majority drive through. I remember seeing on TV that a 62 year-old man has walked across it something like 100 times. I may be wrong about the number but if you've done it once, that should be enough for anyone...

Indeed. I've been through there myself on the way from LA to Las Vegas. This was on an air-conditioned luxury bus & the stewardess (it was like being on an airliner) told us that it was the hottest place in the World. There was big a thermometer placed along the route proving the fact & I could believe it when we got off the bus for a break. She also pointed out the rectangular black marks at the side of the road where cars had burned out. The drivers had ignored the warning signs to turn their air-conditioning off. We counted over 30 & this was just the start of the season.

The second shot is trully excellent. It may even be one of the best ones I've seen from you, don't you think ?

Glad you like it, but be patient on the downloading and installation.  My first attempt sent the mesh into the void.  The second worked because I directed the downloader where to save it, rather than the "documents" destination.

But after that, everything went pretty smooth, even the auto-install.   The only thing that didn't seem to work was the "Furnace Creek" part, which is a small airport to the east of Deat Valley, and not really part of Death Valley, so I'm not bothered by it.  It has the airport in a 500 foot pit, and the asphault is at eye level.  Freaky, but ... ...  There's a bit about checking to make sure a certian file is in the right folder, but again, I'm not too concerned about it.  In stead of using Furnace Creek, I use "Independence" (I think the Airport ID is "2o7") anyway.

If you DL it, and have any probs, I'm sure we'll be able to get it working.

Thanks!

That's one of the drawbacks of Photo-real, I guess.  It wipes out the auto-gen scenery, for the most part.

Thanks!! For this scenery, "slow" is the key, for sure.

Fairly screams for the Piper Cub or even the ultra-light. Fozz can fly his Pou or the Gyro-Sport...
