To the best of my knowledge the RAF was never involved. The Wyvern was designed from the outset as a carrier-borne naval strike fighter. From its pedigree it should have been very successful but it was a horrible aeroplane. I live near the former RNAS Ford & there are still several Wyverns buried in the countryside around here.
