Sander's Field (F407) in Madagascar!
I've been working on this little strip for a couple of months off and on, and just realized that it seems to be fairly well worked so far.

I placed on this itty-bitty island just off the northwest coast of Madagascar, near the city of Nosy-Be. The nearest real-world airport to it would be Fascene (FMNN) to the northwest.

It's been a very relaxing place for me to take off from, especially seeing as there are (as yet) no other aircraft coming or going. That will eventually change, although it will always remain a small strip, available only to STOL or light sport aircraft.

I've been thinking that since I'll be gone for the next few months, I would upload this (including all creation files) as a sort of open-source field that anyone could change to their heart's content. Or just somewhere different to fly at and take off from.

I'd also like to do a few online flights into or out of this place; maybe even have a small airshow there. Since the hangar has individualized spots (see the first shot), I could make a place for anyone who wanted to keep a regular spot.

Most of the buildings are custom jobs, with a few generic FS9 objects thrown in. Sorry, FSXers: no version for you yet. But if someone wanted to, they could take the source files and convert them . . .

If you noticed, I stayed away from the typical layout of most airports/airstrips simply because the FS9 objects that would normally go here are fairly cheap, in my opinion. Instead of a windsock, that steam you see spouts from the vents year-round and bends in the direction of the wind. With a little trial-and-error, one could gauge the windspeed directly from just that. I'm attempting now to get the night lights to be a little friendlier, and a couple of other miscellaneous things.
Anyone who wants to help, or would just like to try it out should PM me with an email address.
How 'bout it, Foz?
