That's too bad, I'd love to see this plane in FSX.

This is FSX. It's advertised on PAD as FSX:

Nice shots Brandon! 8-)

I love PAD's stuff, and the fact that I can use them in either sim. ;)

Does anyone know how many 'True' FSX planes there are? :-?

I see this mentioned a lot, but Alrot's & Brett's planes are some of the only ones I've seen, other than the one's that come with FSX. :-/

Does anyone really make these things?

Are they really that much harder than FS9 planes?

Do Payware companies really make two versions using each SDK?

Does anyone make a "True' FSX Cessna C414?

Didn't think so. ;)

PAD never claimed to use the FSX SDK,  they use the FS9 SDK so that EVERYONE can enjoy their work. ;)

Not saying there isn't any, Phil's list is proof that they are out there, :)

What I'm saying is, until every plane is made in FSX format, what is so wrong with using a FS9 plane?

Did everyone hate on FS2002's planes like this when FS9 came out? :-?

Yes, 'True' FSX planes may be better for FSX, but there aren't as many of them, and a lot of them are on only one site or another, making them difficult for the average new user to find. And again, most developers don't make what the user wants, they usually make the planes they like. So the chance of finding what you want gets even slimmer.  I think almost every plane has been done in FS9 now (except the F-16XL  :'(, come on Aerosoft!), so they are just quick & easy to find, and a nice stop gap until the FSX version is made.

As for the whole bloom & DX 10 part, I don't use the FSX bloom, and I don't have Vista, and won't, so no DX10 for me.

So either way, FSX or FS9 , does it matter how it's made as long as the pilot enjoys it? :)

Thanks for the link, I was never aware of this site.  They even have a Cape Air texture for it.

Sure, but keep in mind that some people cannot enjoy those FS9 aircrafts, for many reasons like:
- they can't afford the FPS hit that an FS9 plane brings
- they cannot afford the FPS hit that is caused by DX9 compared to DX10
- they don't want to mess with the incompatible gauges
- they don't want to mess with the graphic problems
This is acceptable I think.

I'm part of the people that just enjoy any plane, FS9 or FSX, as long as it works (I can deal with graphic problems such as canopies) and it has a usable virtual cockpit... and this last criteria is the most restrictive.

When it comes to the creators of freeware planes, I think most of them cannot afford to switch to FSX for financial reasons. When you take a look at the preview screenshots of some FS9 planes, you can really understand that a lot of them have very old computers, so they have no chance of messing with FSX at all.

And there's this other part of the creators, like PAD, that want to create stuff to please as much people as possible, thus including FS9'ers and FSX'ers :)

We are clearly on the same page then. :)

I agree, the planes from FS9 that have not been properly converted have no business being in FSX, but the ones that have, such as PAD's, are just as good in my book.

Well, since we agree that we agree, I guess we can all go fly some planes now. ;D ;D ;)

There are more people like this than some think. Myself being one of them, hence why I (and many others) stick with FS9.
