im using irfanview to crop and i cant seem to get rid of them, and thank you very much 8-)

I crop it in Paint then copy to Ifranview. That always seems to work.

What exactly is the problem? I just did this in IrfanView.
PS. Select the area you wish to crop then click Edit/Crop Selection (Ctrl + Y).

okay i figured out the problem i was hitting cut area outaide slection instead of crop lol
