Indeed, the contest specifies 3-engine Jets, not 3 jet-engines

In his defense, the rules just state "any jet aircraft with three engines,"

I was watching a rerun of Airport 1975 last night and Joe Patroni (George Kennedy) stated they needed a "jet-helicopter" to transfer someone into the disabled 747.

What showed up was an HH-53 "Super Jolly Green Giant", a USAF version of the CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter.

Top marks to BigTruck for his compelling argument.
