I think I'm seeing triple :o

Little tip, wait a few seconds for the red text to disappear before taking the shot, or crop it out afterwards

When flying and switching views, wait a few seconds, and the red text will disappear

I'm looking for a way to not make it appear at all...

Lucky me, I have to scroll to see the entire pic, so I don't see the text at first.
Nice paintjob! Not too impressed by the clouds though.

Did a search, but I couldn't find a main.cfg.

If you are using XP have show hidden files checked then:
Open explorer then
Application Data
Microsoft
FSX
highlight FSX then open fsx cfg with notepad and add the line I have highlighted in the same place then save.
If you are using vista I am not sure, havent used it.

That's the problem, I'm using Vista.

Search for the FSX.cfg file, or enable hidden files as well.

The directory for Vista is C:/Users/*your user*/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX.
