Grand Canyon

Someone mentioned airraces through valleys some time ago and so I decided to take out some Hornet to try the Grand Canyon backwards from Las Vegas to the spring. Went pretty well until (near Grand Canyon Intl.) my throttle went to zero and wouldn't increase anymore (maybe some glitch with taking the screenshots and switching through programms). Well I almost made it to named airport but close to final had to use the Y-key...  ::)

What I wanna say: try it! Use some sort of fast and easy to handle prop or jet and get as low, close and fast as possible. For me I'm gone flying the repaired F-18 back to LV home-airbase (yes I know it's a NewZealand-paint...)

Cool. The shot of the map really give you a sense of the size.

8-)

Well I haven't found a nice P-51 model for FSX jet, but would like to try that, too! Well next time I'll take e.g. the Hughes...

I have to say, the passage right before the big right-turn (on top on my map) was really challanging to fly with about topspeed 450kias

edit: sorry misread it... but I'd like to try it in a P51 too

I find P-51 WAY to finicky for that kind of thing, that's why I use P-40, good speed, awesome handling. I just find P-51 too annoying to handle.

What about Warwick Carter's P-51D?

That's freeware in payware quality.

Here at SimV for FSX? I'll have a look - seen many Mustangs but couldn't deside which to choose...
