I like the shots a lot! They seem to be crisp and clear but oh man ... these have some serious compression issues! :o
Which software do you use for editing you screenshots?

thanks for the compliments....i use irfanview 4.00 for my resizing... how do you limit the compression?

Setting compression in Irfanview is done like this:

Image

After you've set your quality you need to check the image for its size. If it is either bigger or smaller then you need to adjust the slider and resave that image again. You need to check it for size again and go over this process again untill you have an image that is 150kb or less.

Irfan view is nice but I find it to much hassle to get an image that weights around 150kb. I like Photoshop and Paintshop Pro a lot better.
I would advise you to get a copy of either one, though the latter might be a cheaper choice. Also ... take a look at this.

I know what you mean. Kinda has that grainy look to them, kind of an over-sharpened look as well. Either way, I like the shots! Always wanted to find the Iron Eagle paint!

That is the result of too much compression ;)

thanks for the compliments.... the way you showed how to adjust irfanview is the way i am... is the shot more compressed the higher or lower Kb? and does it compress the shot when you go from 1024 to 800 for the size?

Id certainly give these shots a go at 800, try knocking them down to 800 whilst they are still .bmps then go for the jpeg save in irfanview and see what happens.

I find both paint net and irfanview sometimes struggle to get close to 150kb, either they are over by a tiny amount or under by 20-30kb.

But regardless, i still like the look of the shots :D
