London Heathrow to Birmingham (1 of 2)

So I decided I would go fog flying for the first time.... in a 737.

Starting at London Heathrow the approximate 20-30minute flight is going over to Birmingham.

I set it up as ILS I think, and because the ATC denied me both take off and landing I figured I would take the sky into my own hands, and took off.

I am fairly pleased with a few of these shots... especially those on the runway.

Ready to depart, 1/2 mile of visibility says the ATIS. Lets go!

Soaring away from London Heathrow

Climbing to roughly 10,000ft

Not sure how the photographer got there...

On I go... about half way there.

Part 2 coming shortly.

C+C please, and any comments too.

Cheers

I love flying IFR through fog, my favourite! (Y)

I love the angle on # 3. Can't wait to see the next set!

Set 2 is up now.

Yeh, it was a bit interesting to do actually. I get paranoid that even though I am at 4500 (I mean with 0 visability) that I will crash, so I descended to about 1500 for a very low final just so that I could actually see the ground.

With practise I am sure I can do it better though (you dont want to see the amount of flare there was from the bad line up and descent)
