ahem....

This Month's Theme Is Centered Around...
COLD WAR JETS!
FOR THIS CONTEST YOU WILL NEED TO POST A SHOT
THAT INCLUDES SOME SORT OF COLD WAR JET AIRCRAFT!

As regards the shot; the perspective is very good but there are three major things I would have done to improve it;

-Zoom the camera in more. At the mo the aircraft is too small and there's too much background to look at. This brings me on to the second problem;
-The background is dull, featureless desert. You've got FS and you could go anywhere in the world to take this shot, so its always a good idea to pick somewhere with lots of eye candy and different features to look at. Thirdly;
-That red text in the top right needs to go. What you need to do is pause the game, get the shot lined up, and wait until the text disappears.

The idea behind this shot was very good; however as has already been mentioned the theme was for cold war jets - but you could have used any aircraft with this perspective and if in addition to using the right type of aicraft you take into account what I've said I pretty much guarantee you'd end up with a killer shot! ;)

No need to be sorry... you posted the shot you thought was best and as long as you are sattisfied well I think that is all that matters..

About it not being a jet... Can't really change that much about it anymore... If you want to get a better FSX performance then try visiting StudioV a few spots below this contest forum... you might get some usefull insights there...

Also maybe try and play with the sim in your current smooth settings and then when you have the composition right Pause and maximise the sliders to get the best result.

Just a few tips

:D

Always remember you don't need a supercomputer to produce good results. You just have to be ingenious - an art I got quite good at while stuck on a computer designed solely for things like microsoft office. If you want some help on gettng better results with a low end system I could probably help a bit - PM me; or Soui, who's much better than me. ;)

And about the cold war; the mustang was involved in the early stages; the 'cold war' ran pretty much from the end of WW2 through to 1991. I wasn't around for it either, by the way. ;D

You can change the sim settings by hitting the alt key and up will pop a menu bar - then you need to navigate to options-settings-display. If that's what you meant by graphics? ;)

One more thing, the image is very small.  You can have it be 1024 pixels wide, and are allowed up to 150kb in file size.  I think yours is only like 55kb and 828x538.  You could have a better quality image by making it bigger and not compressing the file size so much.

The P-51 Mustang was used quite a bit in that era, particularly in the Korean War, but the point is that it's not a jet.
A hint for future reference: if it has a propeller, it's not a jet. ;)

Guess that means turboprops aren't considered jets?

Damn, I should know my aircraft, but isn't this one the turbo prop mustang that was built in the 70's for sale as a ground attack fighter for sale to third world countries? The only (or only remaining prototype) is sitting in the Air Force Museum in Dayon, Ohio. It has tip tanks. Don't remember the old Mustang having tip tanks.

No, this is a Cavalier conversion, not the Enforcer.
