Target Detroit 1962
Posted: Tue Feb 19, 2008 1:51 pm07-32AM [17 FEB 1962] Moscow time- Bombers Scrambled after a UFO (possible b-52?) was found to be on course to the Soviet Union over the north pole.
The TU-95 was sent on a course to over fly the North Pole over Canada and on to its target Detroit City U.S.A..... All was going fine until this particular TU-95 was trying to navigate over the North Pole (strange things happen up there)!!! Had to turn back with a belly full of uranium, And a court marshal! Lucky it was a false alarm and all bombers were recalled anyway. Took a few snaps of the mission.
