Part two of a two-part series of me trying to do the famous IGS 13 into VHHX. The aeroplane is the Tupolev Tu-154B2 available at Project Tupolev. The scenery is 9Dragons' Kai Tak Airport. Info & Download.

Still turning for a very short final.


What the ATC sees. In the turn our IAS has dropped to about 250 Km/h, which will be our landing speed.


Now that the wings are leveled we immediately star our flare. Note how crowded the scene is. Gives an impression why Kai Tak is no longer in service.


Moments before crossing the runway treshhold. 13 Is a very suitable number for this runway. I have to admit I cheated this shot, I slewed in position as I coudn't keep enough airspeed on final and stalled the aeroplane on the first try, resulting in a StuKa attack on the lead-in lights.

Also, we use reverse thrust on engines 1 & 3 ( 2 doesn't have one ) and friction brakes to come to a full stop. This shot concludes this screenshot series.

Tried to get that plane working, a couple of times...

But ran out of,

1. time
2. patience
3. inclination
4. interest
5. all of the above

It has taken me about 2 months to get to this stage. Next I want to learn how to use the autopilot...

If you really want to learn this try learning cyrrilic. It really helps, as you actually know what the different systems are named. After that, just use the manual. It accurately describes each step needed to start the APU, the engines, powering up the cockpit instruments, aligning the gyroscopes, and using the autopilot. It also features a section on navigation.
