The glorious and invincible Democratic People's Republic of Korea has only one carrier: the great airline of Air Koryo. This airline takes the hard-working and industrious communist people of the mighty North Korea to the nations that the great and eternally honourable leader, Comrade Kim Jong Il considers worthy of being called allies of sacred North Korea.

Today, a Tupolev Tu-134 which has been decorated in the beautiful and super-stylish livery of great Air Koryo will be visiting Vladivostok in Russia, a country which has been kind (and rightfully so) to all-powerful North Korea.

We board the plane at Sunan international, in the glorious and infinitely impressive capital, Pyongyang.

As I passed by the beautiful portrait of the wonderful Dear Leader Kim Il Sung, I prayed that he would watch over our flight and keep us safe.

We get closer to the runway, and I can already feel the Great and Blessed Leader's presence.

The takeoff goes perfectly, and we say goodbye to our glorious and everlasting nation as the flight to Vladivostok begins.

Comments on these beautiful and mighty screenshots are encouraged by the Great Leaders. Or else...

Note: this is, of course, just a story to accompany the pictures. I don't actually worship Kim Jong Il and Kim Il Sung... ::)

Cheers for the replies all, you've made the Dear Leader very pleased. ;D

For those that want the scenery and Air Koryo traffic, there are a few files to download from avsim. First, get zkpy.zip for the base scenery. Then, download kor_nkaf_tp.zip by Hyun-wook Hong. This will give you a much improved AFCAD, as well as an update for the terminal textures (corrected picture of Kim Il Sung). It also includes flight plans and textures for Air Koryo and the North Korean air force. Finally, get zkpy_night_texture.zip to correct the night textures. You also may want to find a nice mesh for the Korean peninsula.

It really is a fine scenery (though I really wish it had custom ground textures instead of the overly flat and clean default textures) and ZKPY-UHWW is quite a fun short hop.

The AK textures in the pack range from great to decent, but it's missing the Il-76 (had to paint that one meself from scratch), and I ended up modifying the Il-18 (colour-matching) and totally redoing the Tu-134 (for accuracy). But for the non anal-retentive among us, they'll do just fine. Though it's a shame about the Il-76, as there are no other Koryo 76 repaints for AI anywhere (that I know of)...

Nah, that last shot with the lights out was just after the gear went up on takeoff. After I took the shot, I remembered they were out. The lights were then retracted for the rest of the flight, and then extended for finals.
