Hey all. Been thinking of making a Fire bomber for a while and with the fires in California Ive been working on getting a decent FX_file for dousing and covering forestfire FX_. Well you know how it goes start one thing and before you know it your in a project.
Updating the Dashes to be water droppers. Modelling and painting and some new parts to the models for picking up water on lakes. 8-) Here are some preliminary shots.

Did you program an extra fire-scenery or is that somewhere hidden in the default scenery?

We're all very concerned here in Germany about the fire in California, it's not like: "Well, it's not here, so who cares..."

Nice idea btw!!

I sort of feel that way, sadly, but it sort of has to do with my background. I'm not saying that I went over there and said "heh heh heh!" and lit some bushes on fire. also if I was still in the 'business' I wouldn't be over there making money becasue my former department hasn't been transfered there (yet).

I've been to Hollywood in this early summer for a bit less than two weeks (I guess ten days or so).

Just a few days after we got back home, the news channel showed the first fire coming out right there!

I can imagine that. The drop effect looks quite real! I saw on TV, that the pilots who do that have a difficult job!

Hey all Ive just uploaded the EA-FireDash may be availiable this weekend. Links when availiable.
From the File ID
FS2004 FireDash
Features-
All animations including Wipers and water rudders.
Water filling gauge and drop pipe. The animation on
the gauge is a little goofy best to let it cycle to
empty then shut the pump off as the Black indicator bar reaches full.
Effects file tied to smoke system. I created a Water drop effect
that covers the fire effects for an hour to give the sense of
putting out the fire.
Put as many drops as nessesary to get your desired result.
Modified Forest fire Effect. The forest fire effect has an
additional firebrand effect and is reactive to wind velocities.
California fire placements. The Fire Dash was created for and
during the devastating fires in October of 2007 that tore
through Southern California threatening lives and property.
Fire effects are placed at 4 main areas of the fires near Malibu
Lake Arrowhead and San Diego.Nearest airports (NW of KLAX)(NE of
KSEE)(E of KSDM)(W of L35 past Big Bear Lake)
Fly with a visibilty of about ten miles to help create the effect
that the smoke had on the area.Gmax model and paint by Greg ebnit

I had thought about that you could deffinetly put out a fire with as much water as the S600s could carry. LOL ;D
