Kathmandu to Bangkok...Thai 320...Sunset Approach

Well, arrived in Kathmandu from Bangkok around 12:40 PM and was on my return as flight 320 by 2 PM.  So not much time to enjoy the scenery.  But at least I made it in safely.

2 PM we return to the air heading for the same valley that brought us in.  Only this time its not really needed since we are able to clear the mountains easily.  Just a safety measure in case of an engine failure.

Looking back and turning to intercept our path.

Another 3 hours in the air we begin our descent into Suvarnabhumi as the sun begins to set.

Sun just barely visible as we get lower and lower.

Last bit of light as we make our final.

Already left Thailand and headed south east to :-X :-X  Will post the shots sometime soon ;)

Wow. Totally awesome. #2 really caught my eye. Loving the scenery. The last is really well done as well. Love that bold red sky. I must however say, that, like the last, I find a concentration on wing views in your shots. While you may be concentrating on the journey of the passenger, they are becoming a bit monotonous. Show us some of those awesome angles I'm sure you can come up with Triple7.
Keep up the good work. Awesome tour!

Trip7-

Nice shots, are those from the new rig you built? I just finished mine up a few weeks ago, have had too much fun playing with it to stop and take screenshots :)

Thanks :)

Where did you get your sunset textures?

Avsim is about the only answer I can give.  I've had several different sets and some replaced the old ones.  I installed a world wide texture package at one point that did mostly building and ground textures but I think a sun set was included.  So it could have came from several different packages.  It may have been FS Sky World...not sure if I ever downloaded that or not :-/

are those from the new rig you built?

They did...the old rig barely ran FS2002 at decent quality...this ones running FS9 maxed out like a dream.

Not sure why but I've been on a wing view kick lately.  Really depends on where I'm at and what the situation is.  I generally don't like to pause in the middle of a flight to take a shot.  Wing views are quick to turn to and watch for a decent view.  In real life I love to sit right behind the wing and watch everything in action.  Just a tendency to do the same in FS.  Shots I took going to and from Taiwan last year I was seated behind the wing on every flight but one.  Always loved watching everything from that view...especially the first time I saw the HUGE 747 flaps extending right beside me :o

Next flight to post is mostly wing views but probably start experimenting with more views on the next one ;)
