Caribbean Hop Leg X

Postby MOUSY » Sun Sep 02, 2007 7:07 pm

Landed in Santo Domingo last night in leg IX.

Next morning it was time to cross the border to Haiti.

Overcast weather carried over from last night, expected to clear up as we head further West. I climb out from Santo Domingo:

Quite beautiful above the cloud cover. Climbing to about 10,000 feet and turning towards Port-au-Prince:

Cruising now; crossing the southwest portion of the Cordillera Central Mountain Range:

Over the plains of the Dominica Republic, approaching the border, weather cleared up as expected:

Over Haiti now; beginning my descent and turn into the approach over the coast, to the southwest of Port-au-Prince:

Couple 1000 feet over the capital of Haiti, on final into Toussaint L'Ouverture International Airport:

Just a bit of an over-flare, seconds before a smooth touchdown:

Thanks for looking. Please leave comments. Next stop: south to Jamaica!

Hmmm, seems like very few people like this shiny paint.
Layne_suhr... just a bit of positive criticism would have been appreciated as well... it helps the spirit around the forums... ;) I see what you guys are saying though... It is a bit too reflective.

Frank, it just so happens that I had taken these shots before you pointed me towards Vistaliners... Look out for the new model and paint on my next leg to Jamaica (about to fly it now)... It'll be the last time I use the current shiny paint (or apparent lack there of!) ;D

Pepper, flying round the C/bean is so relaxing even in a tube. The destinations are just so amazing!

Thanks to everyone for the comments! 8-)

Nice fluffy clouds, and I'm a wingview fan.  ;)

If you wanna stay with AA 727, there's a close to photoreal set of textures for her.

Cheers,
Fabian

I like your tour Mousy and I think your scenery is very good. But the maintenance guys have indeed been a little overeager with the aluminum polish ;D

The wingview is very clever 8-)
