Yes It's leg 9 guys. Why #9, you ask? 'Cause about one year ago I started this tour and suddenly stopped because I wasn't enjoying simming anymore. Now that I am, I've started again.

Hey, Clipper, Krigl and Harold Kip; this one's dedicated to you guys...

My last stop was San Juan, Puerto Rico. That evening I flew from Luis Munoz Marin Intl to Las Americas Dr J F Pena Gome, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

At the gate, ready for push-back:

Taxiing to Runway 8:

Rotation:

Climbing to cruise level over central Puerto Rico, heading west:

Night falls, the beautiful lights of western Puerto Rico glow:

Crossing the Western Coast, the last remnants of the sun's lights reflecting up from the calm Caribbean waters below:
Image

Some huge cloud heads form as we approach the island of Hispaniola:

ATC vectors me into the approach; I begin my descent and turn into Santo Domingo:

Night falls as quickly as a stone; it's almost over; gear down, I report the runway in sight to my 11 o'clock:
Image

Good thing I've been practising my IFR approaches in this bird, some low mist rolls in; following two birds on final (I hope they'll be the one's to go around ::))
Image

Got my wish; flare over R17; Iberia 747 holding short as I bring my bird to a touchdown:

Tomorrow, we'll be crossing the border into the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, but still a beautiful Caribbean country.

Comments please. 8-)

Hey, Clipper, Krigl and Harold Kip; this one's dedicated to you guys...

Thank you Mousy! I'm honored :D

Nice series of shots ... to bad they're shot at night as I would've loved to see some more details.
I've tried switching of the lights and use my flashlight but that didn't help ... ;D

Hey Frank, I've updated all the airports and scenery for the Caribbean that I can find. There's some real good stuff for Puerto Rico out there. This is what I use:

TJSJ aiport: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery50.htm (last on the page)
San Juan scenery: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery104.htm (top)
Puerto Rico East: http://www.simviation.com/fsxscenery4.htm (middle)
Puerto Rico West: http://www.simviation.com/fsxscenery4.htm (near top)

Also, could you provide me with a link to that Vistaliners AA 727? I can't seem to find neither a base pack or an AA livery... I've found some full aircraft that come with paints though. So maybe just the AA livery link will do.

And Harold, I dedicated this one because it's been mainly you guys that have been encouraging me to keep up this tour.
LOL and where do you get these jokes! Sorry about them being so dark. The dusk flight was goin well till I started my approach, then the light quickly dropped away.

Thanks again guys! Leg X coming soon!

Hey, a fellow Islander! Nice, I've found a Bajan and a Jamaican.
I'm currently in Haiti (pics soon); Kingston will be my next stop. I'll make sure to fly over the western most point of Jamaica on my way to Cuba.

Thanks for the comments.
