To re-kick-off my tour of the Caribbean, I'm going back to my home country, 'casue the shots always come better from home.

Description:
===========================================

Image

The Commonwealth of Dominica (not to be confused with the much larger Dominican Republic), officially nicknamed "The Nature Isle of the Caribbean" lies in the middle of the Lesser Antilles. The largest of the Windward Islands, the indigenous Caribs originally called her "Waitu Kubuli" or "Tall is her body". My rugged island was said to be described by Columbus to Queen Isabella of Spain by crumpling a piece of paper and dropping it on the table.

An apt description for the shear beauty of this island, there is none other like it on this planet. Tourists who truly experience my island go away with a different outlook on the beauty of the world. It is even sometimes hard for me to comprehend how so much beauty can be packed into such a small island. Even traveling to work and back can be a worthwhile experience for a nature lover on this island.

This is what I hoped to capture in the shots to follow.

Dawn; just towed up over Melville Hall Airport in my Minus One powered glider, ready for a few hours in the clean Caribbean air:

WOW! This looks like a proper tour! ::) 8-)

Excellent shots and very nice information Mousy. I like these kind of tours a lot! I really like the first shot that breathes a very tranquil early morning flight. The fifth is also very good; look at that gorgeous sunrise and the quiet Atlantic Ocean in the morning! I can almost hear the seagulls and smell a mixture of forest and sea ...

Keep at it ... I'm loving it (and I'm not advertising the Big M here ;D)
