Spending my last few hours over the Nature Isle... continuing from Part II

On the eastern coast once more, doing a fly-by over Melville Hall Airport, not ready to return just yet:

Over the bay, near Castle Bruce, heading south over the east coast:

Far south once more, Dominica showing its utter beauty by way of its rugged mountains. Truly living up to her her Carib name "Waitu Kubuli: Tall is her body":

After flying back onto the west coast, I cross over the center of Dominica, using the inner roads below for navigation:

After some criss-crossing over the central mountain range, I fly over Canefield, just north of the capital, Roseau, Canefield Airfield, visible below:

Further up the west coast, near the head of Dominica, lies the other major city of Portsmouth, and The Cabrits (considered the nose of Dominica) overlooking the bay, where Fort Shirley was built to protect the bay during the Colonial Wars of the 18th and 19th Century between France, Spain, Holland and Britain (Guadeloupe visible on the Horizon):

After that I headed back to Melville Hall and made a smooth cross-wind landing that I'm rather proud of. 8-)

Hope you enjoyed, please leave comments.

I have to say the mountains are beautiful, and the ground textures have a "soft" feel to them

sweet series Mousy! I liked that a lot! Fancy doing a tour of the rest of the archipelago?
I think that would make some very nice reading/viewing material that a lot of people would like.

I'd like to see more of these mini tours ... I see too many 'quickies' or 'one shot threads'

Thanks again guys.

Not sure if you remember Harold, but I started a tour of the entire Caribbean in Dash 8s, Barons and 727s. I started of in Dominica and headed north and west. My last stop was my 8th leg, I believe, in San Juan Puerto Rico. (A forum search has proven fruitless, been such a long time). Maybe Clipper remembers.

I'll be going all around, up to Florida, down to Mexico and Central America, into South America and back into the southern Caribbean to stop at my starting point.

I'll be posting my next leg to the Dominican Republic soon. I've already got 2 legs of shots lined up and ready to go. 8-)
