Nice one, ground textures could be sharper, but very good for a laptop.

Like the clouds,

Cheers,

I know what you feel my laptop's motherboard had to be replaced cuz it stuffed up and there was a recall on the battery chargers.
Now i am on a low-end Dell and can't play FSX :(

I am on a high-end Dell (or at least it was high-end about three years ago) and I run FS9 with everything maxed - like a dream. Nearly constant 28 to 30 FPS (locked) with incidental drops to around 24-25. FPS only drop to 15-20 (and lower) at really big and busy airports like PANC and that is only for a second or so.

But FSX looks like crap on my system. I can run it but never about 15 FPS. That means full stop at PANC ;D
I haven't put any effort into FSX yet and I think I'll wait till next year when I plan to build my new machine.

Moral of the story: a nicely setup FS9 would run and possibly look better than FS9 FSX ...

I know what you mean.  I run FS9 maxxed and flew over Aerosoft Manhattan in an Eaglesoft Cirrus and my frames were still over 15.

come on Harold

How's this? 8-) ;D

I run FS9 maxxed and flew over Aerosoft Manhattan in an Eaglesoft Cirrus and my frames were still over 15.

Now try that at the same spot in a thunderstorm with 3D clouds and 100% AI between 12:00 and 15:00. And then see if you still have the same performance ;)
On my machine (which is three years old) I got between 10 and 13 FPS on Aerosoft Manhattan in clear skies, which was before my FS-GS treatment ::)

AND on a Pentium 4 with a 7800 GS, not a C2D +8600 like yours
