My First Entry

Postby Stubbedtoe18 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 2:09 pm

Here's my first-ever submission for the screenshot contest.  This is view is from the angle of one of the lucky spectators witnessing a naval airshow from the deck of one of the default FSX carriers.  They're seeing the last plane coming into land, the wonderful F/A-18 by Daisuke Yamamoto and Hiroaki Kubota.  Enjoy!

Nice, but no full burners on landing? And by the look of it, you're going to overshoot your cables!

Be ready for a nice ice cold bath  ;)

Nice entry though nothing to do with an airshow.

Seconded.

GREAT shot mate, nice lighting, interesting livery, nice scenery (although the helicopter on the left looks like it's about to topple into the sea!), we've had finalists of this quality.

But an airshow? NO-ONE would be standing in that position while aircraft are landing on a carrier, spectator or military personel. They either run the risk of being flattened if he gets it wrong or blown off the deak by the reheat if he misses the wires.

Yes, if you had them on before landing, you'd hit the deck at 300kts!!  :o

Well, I tried doing something different.  Thanks for the great comments.  It's supposed to be from the view of a spectator from a private airshow atop of the carrier.

Its an RAAF F/A-18E Superhornet mate. ;) Landing on a US deck.

Overall, pretty good, little too compressed though.

Thanks.  Heh, knew that part.  But it's an airshow, plus the livery added something, I thought.
