The DC-10 is a pretty big bird, and so the exterior pre-flight inspection is a daunting task to undertake.

Checking up on that tail engine, the defining detail of the DC-10.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now starting our engines."

"We ask that you please sit back while you view the safety video." (This one satisfied me, and is now my desktop background)

"Rotate!"

This is the first part of 2 photo series that are dedicated to those lives lost on that fateful day. :'(
