Leftovers

Posting my rejects a little late this month. Like I said in my entry thread, I only took two shots, but it was still difficult to decide. I think I made the right decision. Anyway, it won't do to let these leftover shots go to waste, will it?

This was my first attempt. It's Tim Conrad's Mi-24V (with a custom repaint applied) in front of some great Novosibirsk scenery. Personally, I think this is a fine shot, but I felt it was missing that "wow" factor.

If you look closely, you can spot an Su-27's rudder in the background.

This was my second try. This time using an Mi-1 in front of the same scenery. I included some AI in the shot to give it some atmosphere. I quite liked this shot as well, but again, it was still missing that "something special" that makes a contest shot really shine.

So that's it for my rejecteds. Release comments.

Beaut pics!  :)

Gotta love the Hind - you should try the Nemeths Bros payware one.  It is excellent.

I had a hind in the competition, but I see that my chances are nil, if this is your reject...

Cheers for the comments, all. :)

As for links, the chopper is the Mil Mi-1 "Hare". It was Mil's first production helo, entering service in 1950. You can grab one here. Keep in mind that it's a beta version, so it lacks a pilot model and VC, but it does come with an excellent panel, and it's quite fun to fly.

The scenery is Novosibirsk Tolmachevo (UNNT) by Tolmachevo Team, one of the very BEST freeware Russian sceneries, in my opinion. Find it here.
