Chernobyl

Great game...

...graphics aren't top notch, but everything else is just about perfect 8-)

Fear-ish
Image

My favorite gun in the whole entire game (well, I haven't seen that many, but I doubt anything will beat my beloved M92 8-))
Image

...don't ask about the empty gun...I found that out the hard way... :P
Image

"He'll be coming over the mountain when he comes..."
Image

Unlucky soul...anyone (who doesn't have have the game) can name the weapon?
Image

...yes, I did need that much ammo ;D
Image

All and all, I love this game...

...my complaints are just minor, like all the weapons are left handed (even though you're firing from the right hand)...some of the scopes aren't accurate...and bullet dispersion feels unnatural (just feels 'not right')...

...rest of the ballistics are right on the money though 8-)

Best of all...if you can name the weapon (well, modern weapons), its in the game 8-)

Thunder M-14 = Groza SMG... in 9mm variant
Kora 919 = Looks like a TT-33 but has wrong ammo for that... so more likely a Makarov PM
AKM 74/2 = AKMS (Folding stock AK-74 with short barrel)
Obokan = AK-103... Upgraded AK-74

Nice to see a familiar SA-80 in shot 3, even if the cocking handle's on the wrong side! ;D

All the weapons are left handed, I can't understand why, but either they were copying the terrible mistake that Counter-Strike made, or they were just finding clever ways of including more detail on the guns...

...and alot of the guns use wrong calibers. Both the Deasert Eagle and the Sig Sauer fire .45s... ::)

Your 'DE' is probably a Tokarev TT-33 model shooting Makarov PM ammo... still wrong caliber

So they still keep to the FPS adagium... to be succesful you need an AK and a Deagle

Stormtropper, you have a Athlon64 3200+, X850XT and 1gb of RAM correct? I have a Pentium 4 650 (3.4ghz), 2gb RAM and an X850XTPE.

Well I have some settings for S.T.A.L.K.E.R which may help you. Unless you prefer DX8 mode, turn the renderer to Full Dynamic Lighting, then, put ALL your sliders at medium, once done, turn off Anti-Aliasing and turn down the last two lighting sliders to as low as they go. If it lags, turn renderer down a notch.

Here are some screenshots:
http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/s ... u_sarcofag).jpg
http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/s ... 7_military).jpg

The guns are:
AN-94 Abakan
Deagle
Enfield L85
ZM LR300

The sniper was one of these:
AS Val Sniper
SIG sniper
ZM LR300
FN2000
Sniper Abaken

Though, I think the most likely is a scoped AN-94 Abakan. Why? Because the guy you are sniping is near a railway bridge at the start of the game. You are most likely to only have one of those, or a AK-74U scoped.
Was I right? Or was I right?
So they still keep to the FPS adagium... to be succesful you need an AK and a Deagle

Nah, the AK sucks when you get later in the game. Currently I use a G36K, and an upgraded ZM LR300 which allows you to snipe people.

P.S: The guns in the game are all based on real guns but with fake names. Eg. The Viper 5 is a Mp5.
Heres a mod which fixes it: http://stalker.filefront.com/file/Real_ ... _Mod;77394

...I actually got 3 gigs of RAM (...love daddy's AMEX... ;D)...it lets me run just about every game all out ;)

...the entire game looks more like shot 4...I had to use the in game screenshot capture program (for some reason, GCS won't work with it) and it auto compresses the shots (very poorly)...

...and about that sniper picture, its a G-36E, I just asked because it's one of the most distinctive scopes, and one of the more famous ones... ::)e

Don't see you down here often Paul...

...I'm sure you can find them easily on google or something...

...the game isn't that difficult, I accidentally have it set on one of the hardest settings (I pressed the wrong one apperantly) and didn't even realize it until quite a while into the game...

...it starts out sort of difficult, because you only have a pee shooter, but once you get the G36, you assume the role of a minor deity ;D

Left-handed is great, since I'm a left handed shooter myself. ;D

And I heard there's a G-36 in there??  :o
