Hi guys,

It's sad to hear, that Mike Stone has retired from aircraft modelling.
I don't know exactly what happened, but as he writes in his statement he is fed up with a lot of insults he recieved lately.

Here I made a short flight in his Dornier 328. He released a lot of models that weren't available before him.

Thanks Mike!

Cheers,
Fabian

Departure or Arrival...?

If you look closely at the F100 which was getting in my way while landing you could guess the destination airport....

A real shame, I have many of Mr Stone's models and loved to fly them. They were nice to my frames :) :'(

Fantastic shots, looks like you've shown off his 328 nicely! :o 8-) 8-)

Arrival is Zurich...not sure about departure...

That is bad news...its amazing how Mike Stone managed to make nice models but keep file sizes low.

Even though i didnt fly his planes, i still think this is tragic. I had a lot of respect for what he did, and most people do appreciate him for that. Maby now would be a good time to send him an e-mail about how you like his work?

A real shame about Mike quitting, I always have the utmost respect for the freeware modellers, not because it's free - but because of all the time & effort that they selflessly put in so the we all can enjoy fantastic new planes.

A shame how quickly some people forget that their new download was completley free, & then start bashing the modeller because of a few minor problems - if you don't like it, either don't use it - or make a better one yourself :-*

I know for a fact I couldn't even contemplate making a model of my own - so here's a big thanks to all of you freeware developers out there. Hope to you see you back modelling again soon Mike. :)

Donut, the airplane is here but I'm not sure about the repaint. I would also like the repaint.

And it is so sad to see Mike retire. He is such a great modeler. :-[ :'(

Maybe now someone could make a memorial video with some of the models he's made, put it on youtube or somewhere, and email him the link. This probably won't change his mind, just let him realized that some of us still care...
