Caribbean Island Hop - Leg V
After my short stay in St. Marteen, I switch to an American Eagle flight connection to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Weather was pretty nice an hour ago. Scattered clouds and 60 mile visibilty. Rainman reports building tropical depression approaching from the SE over the Winward Islands and a few thunderstorms to the W between our departure and arrival gates:

After start up and pre-flight checks in my next bird, the ATR 72-500, I rotate from Princess Juliana, flying runway heading straight to St. Croix, Henry E. Rohlsen Intl.:
Encountering weak thunderstorms @ 5000 ft half way into our 18 minute cruise.:

Coming into the clear, some nice clouds up here.:
Flying past St. Croix, and then turning 180 degrees, I enter the approach for runway 27, barely visible on the right:
On Final, coming over the coast:
And with a small flare, I make a silky smooth, smokeless touchdown, just left of the centerline at 80 KIAS:

Next connection in a few minutes to the British Virgin Islands, Tortola. Hopefully the weather won't get any worse. Thanx for looking. Please don't leave without comments.
