Here is my try, I hope you like it because im not eligible to win. Im not registered before June 1st. Oh well, this pic is another perspective of speed.

if we could use orbiter, this would be a very interesting contest. for those of you who don't know, orbiter is a free, closed sourse, space-simulator where you can launch things like the space shuttle atlantis and launch satelites, or dock with the ISS. there are also many other space crafts, and thousands of addons or it, including a cessna and a vulcan

Yes, talking about Orbiter I just had a look sooner today at the available addons, this is amazing how many spaceships and aircrafts have already been released...
And the nice thing, among with its freewareness, is that since a few releases, this sims now allows virtual cockpits !!
AND the earth is simply beautifull from space...
andewonice, your shot is very good in the sense of speed, but the graphics would have been a lot better if you would have used Orbiter 8)

Seen that the sky's barrier has been put higher (30.000Km, I've read. About... 100.000.000 feet...

I think...) IF that shuttle will be usable under FSX, it might be worthwhile to use it.
We'll have to see about it.

I don't know what this is in the metric system, but MS said 18 miles.
