I think he's talking about your approach.. If you approach from the wrong way like you do, you get no nav-aids, and more importantly; Should you trap a wire, it wouldn't matter, you'd be swimming back to the carrier..

Interesting carrier landing, even I know which way to land on a carrier, lol.  Now.

Equally important is that carriers generally head into the wind and maintain a reasonable speed when aircraft are launching or landing, it gives them a bit of extra headwind.  If you come in the wrong way the carrier is providing you with a tailwind instead, and it's already hard enough to land on a carrier without that.
