Jaguar 41 Squadron Repaint

Postby Tweek » Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:32 pm

I think this is just about finished. A 41 Squadron repaint of the AP Designs Jaguar. I've tried to improve the original paint, which IMO, looked too... painted :P. Though for some reason, it looks better in FSRepaint than in FS itself. I think the model is partly to blame for that, as it has a nasty plastic look to it, whenever light shines on it. Should be available on SimV when I've sorted it all out.

There is actually quite a bit of weathering and dirt in the bitmaps, but the model itself is pretty poor, in terms of detail, so it doesn't really show up in game as well as it should. You can probably see from the second in game shot that it isn't that crisp.

at UKMIL we have already tweaked the AP jag, to include weathering.  it is available in 6 and 41 colours

Definitely :P

The main problem with the UKMil version, is that you've left them god awful 'NO STEP' signs on it! As you can see from this pic, there is either no 'NO STEP' signs on the wings, or they do not stand out as much as the default AP paint makes them out to be.

The streaks of dirt need toning down a little, too, on the nose, and around the rear of the fuselage.

Remember also, theres only one roundel on the wings, the left wing.

Edit:
Ah, just seen your photoreal Jag... looks excellent! I'll hold off releasing this paint!
