Heliotrope

Postby krigl » Sun Mar 05, 2006 1:02 pm

Hi, I've been trying out the Reality Pack textures that came out a while ago... and Lennart's which came out about a century ago.... and doing a lot of flying in the mountains. Hope you like these...

Turn off your landing light! :P

Actually I'm getting tired of the Reality Pack textures. I forgot to back up my scenery/world/texture folder. Ho hum. ::)

Nice shots anyway, Roger :)

Why? I was training moths in formation flying.  :)

And in that environment one can find oneself in contact with the ground at any moment when not paying attention.

I know what you meen - hated them when I first saw them, but am giving them another chance... they're kind of new for me. Fields on top of mountains, brown mountains, repetitive and noticeable forest patterns, wierd textures.... what's not to like  :D

Sometimes it looks ok, sometimes I even like it though.

Cheers

Krigl

I myself have Lennart's textures - I "tweeked" them a little so it would work all around my FS world, instead of the certain continents that can be set. ;)

However, this does have it's drawbacks - many a time have I seen patches of desert on top of mountains :D

Love the pics Krigl! :)

LOL I can imagine.... does anyone know of a proper TROPICAL and ARID texture set for the more exotic regions of the world? Lennarts are fine for the north, and VOZ is good for OZ, but Africa? S.E. Asia? Anyone?

.....but Africa?.....

For Africa, I like the default textures myself....probably the nicest of the default ground textures IMHO. :)

And moths are slow, I know.  Tried training them in formation flying and didn't work too well

It's a new plane for me and I just love its total STOLness... considering its ceiling is 20k it was really floundering in the mountains though...

I'll look out for that repaint, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if it's not on the V or the A...
