Himalayas and an A-10

I downloaded the new Himalayan mesh here at SimV and decided to give it a go and shoot through some valleys. Might I say, very impressive!!

Searching for a good place to start.



Found a promising point to start.



Throttle at full and taking the first hard bend, kissing the valley  wall

My system isn't the best to show off the mesh, but it still looks great. Would love to see it on a top line machine.

yup, it does look good. But it has a lot more potential. My detail is only set to 50.

I like doing that same kind of thing, too. I start at places I've lived over my life and fly through them at high speed and low altitude in the F-15. I was a long-haul trucker and have seen just about every corner of the country, save for Alaska and Hawaii. I have abacus' Extreme Landscapes USA and it's very good, indeed, for its detail. Stuff I saw as a driver really is in the software. There's a small hillock at the end of the runway where I live. It can't be maybe 30 feet high. It's in the landscape software. So-o cool!! I like flying down the Strip in Vegas or through the concrete canyons of NYC. The Grand Canyon at 450 knots is a trip!! This flight simming stuff is really fun-- and so cheap!

Where'd you get that A-10? Are you running 2004? I'm using 2002.

I'm running 2004. I pulled the A-10 from here at SimV. I do believe there is another A-10 for 02 as well. You'll love it, the A-10 is a dream to fly at low alts and tight turns (that's what its made for)
