Just a note to let you know that "The Lines Have Been Drawn: The Working Class" Pre-Poll is coming this week-end. So start thinking about all those aircraft that are put to the task on a daily basis. Air-sea rescue, cargo, news reporting, lifting, towing, fire-fighting, private executive transport, courrier service, crop dusting, mail delivery. These are just a few of the criteria we'll look at in determining the "Best Of The Best" in the working class category. A note: all military jets, fighters and bombers are not eligible in this category. As always, screenshots of your nominations are encouraged, so fire up your sims and let's see where this goes...see you Saturday for your pre-poll nominations  :)

Cessna Caravan... what plane can be modiified like this one in many ways.

>amphibious floats
>approved for Icy winter conditions
>modern
>can be pax or cargo
>able for STOL's
>great for bush flying
>works with firefighting equipment

>all of this and only one engine...

c'mon, this has to at least make the list... but it should win!

When I see the title "The working class" the term workhorse springs to mind.

Lets look at the definition of the word:

[b]work

Why do you think Southwest, the only  carrier that is running at a profit (until very recently due to $7.00/gallon jet fuel prices) uses only 737's

Well, they used to fly 727's too.. :)

Can't believe no one has mentioned the C-130... the ultimate  work horse! I'll leave my official C-130 nomination for the actual thread, though. :)

The DC-3 HAS to win.  70 years of reliable, profitable service.  Nothing compares.
