Ski Trip Pt1
Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:39 pmWhat a great way to start a skiing holiday I thought, don't go upto the slopes on the coach, i'll treat us to a ride up in style with some sightseeing on the way. Here she is, all aboard!
Woah! That climb out of the valley was a bit steeper than I was expecting, still, the kids are enjoying it. Captain, how high are we going to go? 13,000 feet eh? Lets hope that's not an omen....
We'd just leveled out when BANG! The cabin lit up with an orange flash for a second. I looked out of the window and all I could see was black smoke pouring from the engine.
The plane lurched to the right, for a second I told myself that it was just a 'backfire' or something but the look on the pilot's face when he told me very firmly to 'sit down NOW' said it all.
Oh dear, those mountains don't look so lovely now!
