End the day with an anagram, that's what I say.

Have been checking out Ashar (Woozy)'s water, looks pretty cool, as well as Perfect Sky and the Tioman "airport" package, in Golden Wings (ground textures)... changed the times about etc... well, enough of my waffle, here are the shots :D

Verdict.. me likes :)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - like where to find the stuff!

Pulau Tioman is an island off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Typical tropical paradise, lots of beach huts, one big resort, the Berjaya (red buildings in one pic). Either Dr No or South Pacific was filmed there, forget which... I stayed there twice when I lived in Singapore, but I got there by boat.

To get the following stuff:

Tioman airport
Additonal boats and a patch, not just for Tioman
Malaysia mesh
A Dash 7 (Shupe's) in Berjaya Air livery (missed that before...don't think Malaysia actually fly to Tioman)

Just type 'Tioman' into Avsim's search engine and all four are on one page. Of course, they are probably all available at the V too :)

BUT - In real life Tioman's runway ends in a solid wall of rock, the only approach being over the water after a turn to avoid the mountains, with missed approach not an option.

The scenery addon doesn't do this justice, and I believe the patch flattens the surroundings even more. If you want to try what landing in Tioman is like just install the Malaysia mesh, and the wall should be there - a bit extreme, but how I remember it, more or less...

If you know how to do it you could try installing his buildings and boats without the flatten... I don't know how though...

The model I used is, I think, the Project Globetwotter one here http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props6.htm

Here are a couple of pics from Tioman airport...

They are all excelent shots, but that last one :o :o :o

It is also now my desktop

Why don't the mods pick a shot of the day or week, stick the simv logo on it and we can use it as a desktop, no voting they just pick one that stands out from the rest..

Because the mods must have lots of spare time ;)

Just an idea

Krigl, I've been using perfect sky for a couple of weeks now and it's a definate must use.  The reds are far more realistic than FSSkyworld generates. Clouds, though are another issue. The last pic...shots don't convey more "mood" than that one. Solid work.  :)

Thanks very much guys, all questions and links answered in an addition to the original post above. I can't remember if the Twotter had a VC or not, didn't use it ::) sorry Fitter...

Yep, Clipper, Perfect Sky is really pleasing, though FSSkyWorld is probably going to have more varied cloud textures. Ashar's water is also cool with it, I was very pleased to see my favourite almost black water appear at sunset, which I'd previously only got with Flight Environment, and the colours give FE a run for their money too...only they are freeware ;D.... Perfect Sky is basically a mix and match of what the author feels are the best sky addons.... have to try out perfect water too, soon.

Out of town tonight :-[

Tomorrow I'm back, will post my last 777 story...oooh!

See ya later!
