New aircraft today (just a converted D3A1 Val) nice ride, already started a repaint or at leat a paint fix. ;D

Long journey ahead..... soon after take off

Then good ol' gunny behind started complaining of ear-aches as we ascended to altitude.... big baby ::)

Image

After leveling out he stopped whining, thankfully....

then.... we flew......

Image

We chased a "black fly" for at least 100 miles before he jinked and we lost him.....

Image

Then we flew more.......

Image

Then we finally came into range of the base and we were so close to the runway we can almost touch it.....

Image

Then as we decended for approach a wind took are tail, and i yelled to my gunny "brace yourself, you big baby, or you'll get a bruise". After which he almost started crying ::)

thee end......

in total over 500 miles and 4 hours, I had cramped up quite nicely, and quite sleepy :)

I'm assuming it was a secret covert mission in which loyal Hawaiians infiltrated a Japanese airbase in disguise of Japanese pilots and took off in the Val and hand signaled they were have radio problems then took off toward the American base with out the unsuspecting Japs understanding what critical error they just let slip by when American pilots stole there Low Altitude Torpedo Bomber loaded with one Japanese Torpedo and both were examined therowly giving us the advantage in knowing how there aircraft work enough to counter use our aircraft to 100% successfully prevent their Torpedo Bombers from getting near out ships... d@mn fergot about the dive bombers gotta go back and get one of them now... lmao

Close, just that the D3A1 Val, is a dive bomber, there is one 60kg bomb on the centerline and two 30kg bombs on the wings, just outboard of the dive brakes  ;D. And the B5N2 Kate, is a torpedo bomber, both happen to be made before 1940.
