Hawaii Hoppin' I
This is Part One of my Hawaii Hoppin Journey
This time of year, many people go on vacation. Mostly to visit family. But Im Jakemaster, I fly for life, so my vacation is, well, different. I decided to go to Hawaii. I have a buddy in Port Allen who knows a guy that works for a guy that is friends with a girl who's husband is the owner of a DC-3. So I decided to see if I could borrow it. He was more than happy to let me use it, after I told him that I fly Duggy (Duggy couldn't come because he and Cubby are going to meet Lightnin' and Connie for some fun (see sig link)).
So, early in the morning, I got the DC-3 ready for a flight to honolulu.

I took off and turned to the east, lots of water ahead

I had been cruising for a while, the sun was starting to shine brightly. Overhead I could see the moon. There was water everywhere, no land in sight. The air was slightly turbulent, so I climbed to 6500 feet where I met smooth air for a while and some spectacular clouds

After a while of boring flight over the Pacific, I came over land, and I saw Honolulu in the distance. What a sight!

To avoid the confusion, hustle and bustle, and stress of ATC, I decided to land on Ford Island. It was a short runway, but thats what I love about Dakotas: they are tough. I made it down in one piece

Finally, after a long time of flying over the water, I shut down and parked the DC-3.

As I walked away, I saw a billboard advertising Heli Tours, and I knew that I had to go do that......
Hope you like my story so far! Part II later.
