The story of Nathaniel Jefferson

It was a cold Autumn that year...I remember it very clearly.. The weather was grim and chilly. It reflected my mood.

Hello to all! What I am about to tell you happened to me a few years ago. The experiences were life changing.

I am Nathaniel Jefferson, better known as Nate.

30th of august 1991,

"had a big cry yesterday night. I feel so lonely without them. If only I had picked them up! But no! I went to the game with the guys........    What I wouldn't give to have another day with them!.....  O god Mandy I miss you and the kids soo much! Why did it happen? WHY?!!"

I remember it clearly.. that day when  we drove home after the game. We were pulled over by John, the local sherrif. He singled me out from the guys and told me to get into the car. At that time I thought it was a prank from the guys...It was not to be.....

"Nate" he spoke to me. "Nate, there is something I need to tell you" "What?" I asked. " Mandy and the kids had a car accident."  "WHAT!!!!? Are they ok!" and then the most painfull silence fell...." I'm sorry Nate, they had no chance. Mandy, Julia and Harry...They felt no pain"

My world collapsed that day!

The only time I could find some peace was while flying.

I flew deliveries for the locals here.....As was the case on this day.

25th of October 1998

Today a longer distance flight for Ben.
Image

The weather was strange today...I didn't know what it wanted. Rain, sunshine and fog we had it all!
Image

Ben asked me if I could fly a bit low as he wanted to take some snaps...No problem....Flying keeps me focussed on something else than that day....
Image

Even though Ben was right besides me, We didn't speak much. I never spoke much anymore.. The local kids new me as "the silent one" I felt no need for talking.
Image

Just let me be....

As the night fell we neared our destination

Image

The water was bloody red....Images flashed through my head...They weren't pretty....
Image

We arrived and Ben ofloaded the stuff...He left for the local pub and he asked me to come along...."No thanks! I'll sleep in the plane."
Image

I never slept much anymore.....

Grim man grim.

My best friend lost his wife and kids Christmas eve in a car accident, slash that, crash. Right in front of him, like two cars up. Damn drunk drivers.

Unfortunatly he didn't have a plane to fly, poor guy.

That plane fits right in with the story, grim, dirty, beat up.

Sad, but a very good story of someone. Hopefully nobody has to deal with this anytime! Due to a drunk driver. Life is tough enough!

hmmmmm.... I hope you don't mind If I continue the story? although it's main charactyer will be Nate.... the story will go into another direction.

And yup the plane fitted in perfect! It was the first planeI thought of when I created this story..

So if no one has objections?...

Oh no, not at all! Carry forward please. Man I love those dirty planes, they all should come that way.

Just remember don't drink and drive this holiday season and make this story real for someone.

Humm ends with a moral of the story.

Superb pics of one of my favourite planes/paints, love the beat up look. The lighting in some of them is excellent!

Grim start to your story, but it makes a change and I'm already looking forward to the next episodes! Go Soui go!!

Thanks all for the kind replies!

Part two will be up later this week somewhere.....Must think first on how exactly it's gonna go....I have ideas.....now to put them down...
